We are a Pre-school as well as a full day care nursery. This means your children can attend just one setting right through from babyhood to school. This will enable them to build strong bonds with the staff and have a ‘home from home’ environment for their first experience away from Mum and Dad! We have places for children aged from birth to five years and we are registered with Ofsted. We think we offer outstanding childcare and education and Ofsted agree with us.

We try to work with you and support you if you are a working parent and need flexibility. We are as flexible as we can be in the day nursery and the pre-school room, when your children receive early education funding. This means your pre-school aged children can have first class education on days when it suits you. This includes having 11 hours funding all the year round instead of 15 hours term time only – if you prefer this and it suits your lifestyle. Talk to us about your individual needs.
All children are provided with healthy snacks in the morning and the afternoon. Children who stay for the whole day will need to bring in a well balanced packed lunch – oreferably with healthy options. The staff are happy to discuss suitable items for packed lunches with parents, on request. Please note: We are unable to heat any aspect of packed lunches, and food should be packed in a way so that it is ready for your child to eat it without further preparation.
Children are based in one of two rooms according to their age:
- the baby and toddler room – with special baby area
- the pre-school room
For most of the day, children of different ages are looked after separately, except during some outdoor play and special activity sessions.
There is a quiet sleep room with cots and day beds for children to sleep and rest in peaceful surroundings. There are viewing panels for staff and the temperature is monitored for the safety of sleeping children.
Each room has access to a fabulous covered deck for all weather outdoor play. The large, enclosed, naturalised garden has good opportunities for climbing and is designed to allow children to use their imagination and develop ideas and themes. There is plenty of natural shade in summer, from the canopy of the mature sycamore trees. There is a huge sandpit and play house in the ‘woods’. Children are encouraged to grown their own plants and eat the produce in their amazing vegetable garden. Children free flow between outdoors and indoors when at all possible. We are firmly committed to fresh air!
